Over one hundred and nine (109) Southern Kaduna native lands are said to have been forcefully seized and occupied by Fulani herdsmen in recurring attacks in the locality.
Spokesman of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, Mr. Luka Binniyat said the over Fifty Thousands (50,000) displaced Southern Kaduna people are from these communities.
He added that the communities are in Five (5) local government areas including Chukun LGA which is part of the Kaduna metropolitan city.
“54 communities in Chukun local government are under the full occupation of Fulani militias and in the entire southern Kaduna, they are in 109 communities in 5 local government areas” he said.
Mr. Binniyat said the trick by the Fulani is to launch an attack, chase the natives, take over the communities and lay claims of ownership.
Reacting on the recent attack at Kasaya community in Chukun local government, the SOKAPU spokesman expressed shock and described it as shameful on the part of the security agencies, noting that where the attack took place is just a stone throw to the Nigeria 1division of the Army and Air force base.
He said the attackers kidnapped 2 teachers 3 female students of a school where children were holding lesson, a nursing mother and one other man but they later released the nursing mother and the other man was able to escape.
The SOKAPU spokesman said they are yet to establish contact with the assailants for the release of the remaining 5 victims in their custody.
Despite the grand plan of genocide and forceful land grab by the fulani militias in Southern Kaduna, the natives are hopeful that they will reclaim their ancestral land with international intervention and God on their side.
