Revenue Generation: Dadin Kowa Church Dedicates Business Store

The Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, Regional Church Council, RCC Dadin Kowa has dedicated a business store to boost the revenue generation of the Church.

The building was dedicated by the Chairman, Incorporated Board of Trustee of COCIN, Rev. Prof. Soja Bewarang on Sunday.

Dedicating the store, Rev. Prof. Soja Bewarang who is a former President of COCIN, said the church cannot survive on offerings and tithes alone hence, the need to diversify means of generating funds to support the church.

“I have said it and will continue to say it, that as COCIN continues to expand, we would not survive with tithes and offerings. And I think COVID came and reminded us that this way we are going will not help us.

“We have for a very long time suggested that we expand in the area of revenue generation….we need Christian Filling stations, we need large shopping Malls.” He said.

The Chairman of RCC Dadin Kowa who doubles as the Chairman of the Provincial Church Council, PCC Jos, Rev. Mudimka Seri, explained that the initial intention of building the place was for Information Communication Technology, ICT Complex, to run a computer business but that has changed now due to changes in technology.

He said as RCC, they were battling with what to do, but the business committee set up by the Church came up with a proposal which they worked on and agreed to turn it into a store where goods will be sold at wholesale and retail.

He said the committee has done a great job by registering the business with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC under the name “Rantya Multi Business Stores”.

Rev. Seri said already the church has constituted a 3man business committee and submitted a business plan to be worked on. He noted that the store shall be of benefit not only to the church members but to the entire Community.

The committee chairperson, Mrs. Lami Dakwak explained that the store will have provisions, food stuff and farm produce at wholesale and retail prices.

The store is situated by the roadside at the RCC headquarters of Dadin Kowa in Rantya – Gyel, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
