Zamfara State Assembly understudy Plateau Assembly for Financial Autonomy

The Zamfara State House of Assembly is to carefully study the Plateau State House of Assembly in it quest for financial autonomy for the State Assembly.

This was the crux of discourse when the Zamfara State House of Assembly paid a learning visit to the Plateau State House of Assembly, led by it Deputy Speaker Aliyu Adamu in Jos.

Clerk of the Zamfara State House of Assembly Mahmud Aliyu stated during the visit that the Plateau State Assembly is a model for other assemblies especially on the issue of financial autonomy.

He expressed optimism that the learning visit will be instrumental in the achievement of the Zamfara State Assembly financial autonomy.

Responding, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan commended the Zamfara State 9th Assembly for desiring and working towards financial autonomy which the Plateau State Assembly is presently enjoying. As he enumerated some benefits of the autonomy to the assembly.

Hon. Dewan further tasked his colleagues in Zamfara State to do everything possible through effective legislations in controlling the mining activities in Zamfara.

The Plateau State Speaker in agreement to assist his Zamfara State counterpart, handed over copies of the Plateau State Funds Management Law, and its amendments, House of Assembly Service Commission Law and a communique for implementation of financial autonomy to enable them achieve their desire.
