Both old and current Students of Dalo Memorial High School Foron, (DALOSA), yesterday converged at the school’s Chapel to celebrate God’s faithfulness to them while in school and in their post secondary school life.
The students who took turns from one set to another testified of how God kept them throughout their stay while in the school and after their graduation till date. They also gave their token of appreciation for the development of the school.
Rev. Daniel Datongs, the Chairman, RCC Heikpang who is also an old student of the school presented a sermon on the topic: ‘Reuniting to Remember God’s Faithfulness’. He took his Bible reading from Deuteronomy 8:1-5 and Psalm 77:11. Just as God was reminding the Israelites of his faithfulness to them while they were in the desert he asked they old students to remember how God sustain them during their secondary school days in the school and to show their appreciation to him..
While discussing God’s faithfulness to the school and the old students, Rev. Datongs recalled how in 1985 the whole school was blown off by a terrible windstorm yet no student or staff was lost and some of them are still alive as embodiment of God’s Faithfulness. He encouraged the current to work hard so as to be great men and women in the society tomorrow.
In his welcome remarks, the principal of the school Pastor Pam Andrew Bot said the school is known for training godly leaders who will transform their generation by shining the light of Christ. He enumerated some of the immediate needs of the school to include staff quarters, water system, hostel accommodation among others.
The President, Dalo Old Students Association, DALOSA, Mr. Stephen Dachomo in his address acknowledged the economic hardship the the country is going through which necessitated their resolve to sustain their activities online. He outline some if their activities for next year to include, award/dinner night, tree planting around the school, complete the gate project and support the staff quaters project in the school.
The pioneer principal of the school, Da Pam Alexander Dachomo in his goodwill message thanked God for being alive to witnessed the growth of the school recounted how he started with one block of classrooms and had to use a store as principal’s office. According to him he worked as a missionary because he received no salary but God help him to get his first and second degree while in Dalo school.
Other goodwill messages came from the Chaplain Mr. Dachung, the PTA Chairman represented by the Secretary, Mrs. Vou Gyemang and representatives of the different sets. There was a special song ministration by one of the Old students who is also the DALOSA secretary, Mr. Fom Dafom.
