Plateau State Government has appealed for restraint among citizens as security agencies intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of the attacks on some communities in Bokkos that led to the death of over 52 persons.
The government made the appeal today through a press release signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap.
While condemning the violent attacks of 2nd April, 2025 at Manguna, Josho and Daffo Communities in Bokkos Local Government Area, the government urged the citizens to exercise restraint and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

“The government calls on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies. Citizens must actively cooperate with law enforcement to facilitate the identification and apprehension of those responsible for these heinous acts.” The release added.
The Honorable Commissioner further assured citizens that Governor Mutfwang’s administration remains fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Plateau residents. And that security agencies have been deployed to the affected areas to ensure normalcy returns at the shortest possible time.

According to the release the government called on religious, traditional and community leaders to reinforce the message of peace, unity , and lawful engagement.
Meanwhile, a press release by Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDA) Vanguard revealed that in just one week they lost 20 members of their community to terrorists’ attacks seeking to seize their land and impose a caliphate.
In the press released which was signed by the Chairman BCDC Vanguard, Barr. Farmasum Fuddang and the Secretary Ambassador Duwam Bosco On April 2nd alone, they killed over 10 people and that survivors reported that the attackers speaking the Fulani dialect launched the brazen assault in broad day light around noon in Mangor Tamiso, then moved to Daffo, Manguna (Tagai), and invaded Hurti and Tadai.

The Council thanked the security agencies for their swift response to the distress calls which minimized the casualties, but in view of the logistics challenges faced by the securities they urged all Bokkos indigenes to heed Governor Mutfwang’s advice to protect themselves.
According to them if the residents were prepared to defend their communities the terrorists would not have carried out the attack with such impunity.
They also expressed their deepest sympathies to the victims of the recent invasions in Ruwi, Mongor, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai and called on emergency agencies (NEMA, SEMA and Red Cross) to swiftly provide relief to the displaced and the injured.
Again in a latest development the BCDC Vanguard Chairman Barr. Farmsum Fuddang in an interview with Channels Television disclosed that the number of people killed during the attack has risen to 52 persons.
He said this followed the discovery of 40 more dead bodies on Wednesday and Thursday night when the search and rescue team were combing the forest in search of missing persons.
Meanwhile, they conducted a mass burial for 31 persons on Thursday with 5 other underaged persons burnt to ashes in Hurti village, 11 more were killed in Ruwi village, four in Manguna village and one person in Daffo.
