Breaking: 3 killed in Plateau village raid

Youths stand by house burnt by terrorists near Jos

At least three people have been killed in an evening raid of a Christian village in central Plateau State, sources have revealed.

Gunmen believed to be militants from the Fulani tribe on Tuesday attacked Makabat Butura – a village of 40 brick houses 15miles northwest of Bokkos town in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State at 7pm local time, killing three according to Sule Marshall, the youth President of Butura.

“They killed a woman and her son, and another man in the village,” said Marshall in a phone interview.

The raiders according to him fled after the brief attack before military rescuers arrived the scene.

The attack comes as officials in Bokkos Local Government have announced grazing restrictions to curb attacks linked to the herding clans of the Fulani tribe in the area.

Police and civilian authorities have yet to comment on the attack as of publishing time.
