One time Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Prof. Haruna Dabin has opined that the responsibility of monilizing for the next President of Nigeria lies with the Church.
Prof. Dabin stated this at the ongoing Batch A COCIN Clergy and Wives Annual Conference in Gindiri, Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
Speaking on the topic, “Politics in Nigeria”, he observed that Christians usually are the most qualified to participate in politics because they have all it takes to bring about positive development but unfortunately they relegate themselves to the background and only complain.
Going down memory lane, he said Christianity has played a significant role in the development of Nigeria but unfortunately, now shy away from politics and termed it as a dirty game instead of participating to bring the desired change.
He insisted that serving God does not exclude us from whichever endeavors we find ourselves including politics.
In his opening remarks, President of the Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo told the participants that, “your primary purpose in life is to work for God and not to look for money and positions.
He lamented how Pastors have abandoned their true calling and run after mundane things and urged them to wait on the Lord and serve him faithfully and He will surely meet their needs.
“There are seasons in this life and we should not get lost and buried in the seasons. Although we may be faced with many things but we should be resolute and hold on to God to succeed”, Rev. Mohzo said.
The Gindiri Clergy Conference is held yearly by COCIN as a means of encouraging participants and equipping them for better service in the vineyard of the Lord.
