COCIN Calls for the Review of Nigeria’s Security Architecture

Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN)
has called on the Federal Government to review the security architecture of the nation and asked security agencies to put more effort in tackling Nigeria’s Security challenge.

The call was made on friday in a communique read by the President of the Church, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo at the end of it’s 107th General Church Council meeting held at the COCIN Headquarters Compound Church Jos, Plateau State.

“Calls on the Federal Government to comprehensively review the security architecture of the Nation and the security agencies to intensify their efforts towards tackling the worrisome security impasse.” Rev. Dr. Mohzo said.

While Condemning the continuous unprovoked attacks by Fulani terrorists, whose mission is ethnic cleansing and land grabbing, the COCIN President reiterated the need for the general public to be security sensitive and alert at all times, engaging in strategies of self-protection.

The communique which was jointly signed by the COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo and the Church’s General Secretary, Rev. Assoc. Prof. Benjamin Pokol, Commiserated with the Families of communities who were attacked and killed by Fulani Terrorists and Bandits.

Similarly, the Church also condole the government and immediate families over the transition of former FCT Minister, late Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Usaini (CFR) and the immediate past Deputy Governor, late Prof. Sonni Gwanle Tyoden.

COCIN further Called on her members to jealously guard their faith in times of resurgent cultural practices and to deepen their knowledge on ‘Knowing Christ and the Power of His Resurrection’ being their theme for the year 2025.

It commended the efforts of the federal and state governments for the improvement in the economy, but however, added that more effort need to be put in order to achieve the desired impact considering the severe hardship affecting many Nigerians today.

And also called on the federal government to remain resolute in initiating policies and programs through National Rebirth, built on integrity, Truth and the fear of God.

It further enjoined the National Assembly to consider the rights of Nigerians as they deliberate on and amend the Electoral Act and other enactments.
