The Management of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN and members of its incorporated Board of Trustees have paid a condolence visit to the immediate past President of the Church, Rev. Prof. Dachollom Datiri over the demise of his brother, late Prof. Yohanna Chumang Datiri who died after a protracted illness.
Leader of the delegation and COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo read Psalm 39 and encouraged the family to be comforted in the Lord, saying the deceased was a blessing to his generation because he used his talents for the benefit of humanity which is worth emulating.
He said life is short no matter how long we live hence the need for every individual to make good use of the time God has given us in order to achieve the task God has allocated to us.
Rev. Dr. Mohzo said the deceased died at a time in which the nation needs the services of capable men like him to make a difference especially now that Nigeria is going through many challenges and prayed God to sustain the family he left behind.
Responding, the immediate past COCIN President and elder brother of the deceased, Rev. Prof. Dachollom Datiri appreciated the COCIN Management and BoT for coming to mourn with them saying the act was a practical demonstration of the love of God.
He said the family had prayed that God should heal their brother but God decided to heal him in His own way adding that the last words of the deceased, “Hallelujah! Halleluja!! I am healed permanently” is a consolation that their brother is resting in the bosom of God.
“We are truly thankful as a family for your coming because every burden shared is a burden lightened. Continue to uphold us in your prayers so that God will comfort the entire family because we had thought that he was getting better but God knows best”, Rev. Prof. Datiri said.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the COCIN Incorporated Board of Trustees, Rev. Prof. Soja Bewarang who spoke on behalf of the BoT members described the deceased as a seasoned Professor of the University of Jos and called on the family to seek comfort in the Word of God.
