COCIN Mourns Ex-President’s Wife Death.

The Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, has sympathized with the family of her fourth indigenous President, Late Rev. Alexander Lar over the demise of their Mother, Mama Grace Alexander Lar who died at the age of 83.

COCIN President, Rev Dr. Amos Mohzo led the high power delegation to the residence of the former President at Rayfield, Jos South local government area of Plateau State to condole with the family.

While condoling with the family on behalf of the Church, the President reminded the family that their late mother has finished her work and it was time for her to join their late father.

“The Lord deemed it fit to call Mama to be with Him, so we are here to sympathize with you and encourage one another. The death of Mama is for the entire Church and not the family alone, though you, her children will feel the pain of losing her more because you are directly with her all the time” he said.

“Mama’s time has come, that is what we should know as believers” the Church leader noted as he recalled one of the favourite songs of their late father, Rev. Alexander Lar.

The President thanked God for Mama Grace services to the Church and to the family. He encouraged the family that though is painful, but they must accept it, knowing fully well that the God they serve is close to them. Noting that their parents did not leave them as orphans but have given them Jesus and the Lord is with them as He promised to be close to the broken hearted.

He prayed God to comfort them and encouraged them to stand on God promises. “We all need the comfort of God” he added.

Responding on behalf of the family, one of the sons, Mr. Manasseh Lar appreciated the Church for coming to identify with them in their moment of grief. He said they are honoured by the visit and are  encouraged by the words of comfort to them.

The COCIN President on behalf of the Church presented to the family through one of the sons who is the Chairman of Regional Church Council RCC Sabon Gida, Rev. Jonathan Lar a letter of condolence from the Church.

On the delegation were the COCIN vice President, Rev Dr Timothy Nwan, Deputy General Secretary, Rev. Dauda Jimra, some COCIN Directors, PCC Chairman of Jos, Rev. Mudimka Seri, RCC Chairman of Du, Rev. Dawuda Jakawa among others.
