There is currently an atmosphere of confusion in Jos the Plateau state capital with the online notification for a proposed Jos History Lecture Series by some alleged Hausa settlers in Jos.

The first series of the proposed history lecture with the theme “The History of Jos and Environments, pre, during and post Colonial Era” is expected to hold on Sunday 1st November, 2020 by 10:am through zoom.

The proposed zoom lecture meeting ID is 71250227347 and the pass code is 12345.

Speaker at the lecture will be Mallam Auwal Salihu while the National General Secretary of Jamma’atil Nasir Islam JNI, Sheikh Dr. Khalid Aliyu is the discussant.

Others are Alhaji Nasir Suleiman who is tagged on the banner as “Sarkin Bukur” (Traditional Ruler of Bukur) as special guest and Alhaji Garba Abdulkadir who is tagged as “Shugaban Al’ummar Jos” (Leader of Jos Residents) as Chairman of the Day.

One Ibrahim Lawani Datti is said to be the convener of the lecture.

Recalled that in August this year, it took the government, Jos joint traditional council and security agencies intervention to halt the Installation of one Alhaji Samaila Abdullahi as the Sarkin Kerana 4 in Bukuru over heightened tension created by the proposed installation for the interest of peace.

The confusion according to some respondents is on how settlers can tell the history of host community?

They called on authorities concerned to act urgently to forestall what they view as a distortion of history by the organizers of the said lecture.
