Corona Virus: Plateau Govt Tightens Restrictions

The government of Plateau state has announced further measures to stem the spread of the Corona Virus in the state.

In a press briefing today, Secretary to the government of the state who is also the Plateau state Covid19 Tasks Force Secretary, Prof. Danladi Atu, outlined that the new measures include prohibition of Vehicular movement into the state from all border entry routes from 6pm to 7am starting from Sunday 29 March, 2020.

Further more, Tricycles will no longer convey more than one passenger while Saloon Cars will only take 4 passengers including the driver.

The government advised all people coming into the state to take note of the new measures and prepare their trips to avoid unnecessary inconveniences.

While appreciating the public for their cooperation, the government emphasized that nobody is above the law and therefore directed security agencies to take necessarily actions against individuals and groups that violated the government directive.

The government noted that so far, the state has not recorded any case of the virus, but appealed to members of the public to continue to cooperate with the government and work together to ensure the protection of lives of the people
