Covid19: 4 Contacts of late Nasarawa Assembly Member Test Positive

Four amongst the contacts of the late Nasarawa State House of Assembly member who died last week of Covid19 have tested positive of the dreaded corona virus.

This has forced the Nasarawa State Government to extent the lockdown order in Nasarawa local government area to prevent further spread of the virus.

Governor Abdullahi Sule in a press briefing in Lafia said out of the  13 confirmed new cases in the state, four were traced to close contacts of the late member of the state House of Assembly, representing Nasarawa Central, Alhaji  Suleiman Adamu.

The Governor stated that the extension of lockdown of the  local government area was based on advice of health workers to enable them to track more contacts of the deceased member of the House of Assembly.

Governor Abdullahi Sule noted that the other nine confirmed new cases were returnees from COVID 19 high risk states especially Lagos and Kano.

This brings to 25 the total number of COVID 19 confirmed cases in Nasarawa State with one death.
