
The Plateau state government has ordered the closure of all schools in the state on or before Saturday 21 March, 2020 to safeguard the lives of it citizens against the spread of the dreaded corona virus, Covid19.
In a press statement signed by the Secretary to the government of the State, Prof. Danladi Atu, the measure became imperative because of the wide spread of the Corona virus in the country and the world at large.
He said it is therefore for government to adapt the measure to curtail the menace.
The statement also encouraged parents to promote the culture of personal and family hygiene as a way of curtailing and preventing the pandemic.
The schools to be closedown include Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in the state.
The directive comes at a time when some of the schools in the state are writing their second term examinations.
