Senator representing Niger East and Chairman Senate committee on Senate services, Senator Sani Musa says at least two persons have been killed and over 30 abducted in his constituency in the last one week.

Also, no less than 5000 persons have been sacked from over 15 communities within the week, he said.

Last Thursday, armed men attacked Garin Gabbas and Yakila communities in Rafi areas, and abducted the District Head of Gunna, Ibrahim Abdulhameed, a youth leader of the All Progressives Congress and two other persons.

On the same day, Chukuba and Kuchi communities in Shiroro local government area were attacked by bandits.

A Christian cleric and a vigilante Official were killed, and at least eight persons kidnapped.

On Friday, gunmen also attacked villages between Zungeru and Tegina in Rafi LG where they abducted dozens of persons.

Later on Sunday, in Ogu and Rafin Doko in Rafi LG, at least 19 persons were abducted.

“A lasting solution must be proffered, and those who are tasked with the responsibility of protecting the lives of the people must act fast,” said Senator Sani Musa in a press statement.

“Enough of the bloodletting and carnage. The lives of innocent citizens cannot continue to be sacrificed on the altar of blood-thirsty vampires who are bent on destroying the peace of our land,” Musa said.

The Senator implored President Muhammadu Buhari to order Securities to be more active in securing lives of citizens. “If the security agencies in our country, cannot guarantee the protection of lives and property of the citizens, then Nigeria may be on the precipice of anarchy,” he said.
