Insecurity: Clergy Worried Over Unabated Killings

A Christian cleric, Rev. Dr. Sylvester Dachomo has said Nigeria has lost her pride as a nation, since mass burial of Nigerians killed due to insecurity has become the order of the day.

Rev. Dr. Dachomo who is the Senior Pastor of the COCIN Headquarters Compound Church said this while speaking at a funeral service of Ngo Vou Bitrus Pam, wife of the first General Secretary of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN which was held in Jos.

Reacting to the gruesome Killing of Major General Hassan Ahmed by bandits along Abuja- Kogi road on Thursday, the clergy also said, unless the Government wakes up to her responsibility to restore back the nation, insecurity will devour us.

Rev. Dr. Sylvester expressed dismay over the unabated killings in the country by bandits and other terrorist groups and added that killing the masses and even top army officers is embarrassing to the nation.

“They move from one community to another, sometimes wiping out an entire family or kill many members of the community and still walk freely without any arrest; leaving us with continued mass burials. As a nation, we have no honour even for the dead. May God heal our nation, may God comfort us” he said.

It could be recalled that Major General Hassan Ahmed, a former Provost Marshall of the Nigeria Army was full of life when he attended the funeral service of late Maj. Gen. Raphael ID Isa in Jos was gruesomely murdered on Thursday night by bandits.
