Insecurity: COCIN Pulls Out 6 Missionaries in Plateau

The Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN has withdrawn 6 of her missionaries from Kyamsangi mission field in Kanam local government area due to the growing insecurity in the area which has forced many villagers to relocate to safer communities.

Coordinator of the COCIN Community Mission CCM, Rev. Moses Gonam stated this while receiving food and clothing items from the GCC COCIN Women Fellowship, CWF for onward distribution to missionaries in the fields.

He appreciated the CWF for always being a real mother to the missionaries, saying many of the missionaries are not finding life easy but their support will go a long way in alleviating their suffering.

The COCIN Director of Foreign Missions, Rev. Ripji Merkuk who also appreciated the support of the CWF towards mission, said if not for intervention of the CWF, COCIN might have closed some of her mission fields.

“We have benefited a lot from you, I always testify that COCIN would have closed mission work to a certain point, if not for intervention of the Women Fellowship. I remember when we spent up to six months without salary in the mission field, the women usually mobilize and offset the salaries owed”, he said.

Earlier while presenting the items to the CCM, the COCIN Women Fellowship Coordinator, Mrs. Godiya Kitgakka, said the items are from the COCIN women and she is presenting it on their behalf, with the hope that it will alleviate the suffering of COCIN missionaries.
