Light Football club Camps ahead of Friendlies

The Light Football Club of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN is currently gearing up in camp ahead of friendly matches with local teams within Plateau State.

The 35 man squad including 3 technical crew are having their physical and technical training at the Vom Christian Hospital Football Field in Jos South local government area of Plateau State.

One of the technical crew, Coach Samson Dadung is confident with the team’s performance both physically and in character which to him is a sign of commitment by the players.

Mr. Joseph Bitrus who is also one of the trainers, said the two weeks camp, is meant to bring the players together to get familiar with each another to ensure teamwork, since they are coming from different places.

The team according to the technical crew will slot it out with other local teams after their planned second match with the famous Plateau United Football Club was put on hold due to ongoing Nigeria Professional League.

Earlier, COCIN Youths Coordinator, Rev. Amos Dammo who visited the team at their training ground to encourage them applauded the skills of the soccer game players.

The Light Football Club praying before commencing training

He reminded them of their background and the need for them to shine the light of Christ as their name “LIGHT” implies both physically and in character as he also prayed for them.

It could be recalled that since commissioned last year as a team after careful selection of the players, Light Football Club had previously won 4 out of 5 matches it played but lost gallantly to the superior might of Plateau United which they are strategizing to defeat in their next encounter.
