Police Arrests Killer of Deputy Chief Auditor, Accountant General of Federation’s Office

The Nasarawa State Police Command has recorded another great success for the arrest of a house help who killed his employer in Karu local government area of the state.

The victim, Mr. Martins Omeri was before his demise a Deputy Chief Auditor in the Office of the Accountant General of Federation, Abuja.

According to a statement by the Nasarawa State Police Command spokesman, ASP Nansel Ramhan, the killer who is identified as Cephas Iliya, a 27 year old man from Kaduna state has confessed that, he sneaked into the house of the deceased on the night on 17th November, 2020 while he was asleep and killed him using a log of wood.

“On 24/11/2020 at about 1145hrs, Police personnel attached to Karshi Division acted on credible intelligence and arrested the suspect at Arab area, FCT Abuja” the statement said.

The statement added that a coordinated and diligent search was conducted in the apartment of the killer, where they following items belonging to the deceased including an Infinix phone, Laptop, Clothing, pair of shoes, Clipper, Beddings and few other properties as exhibits.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bola Longe has directed that, the case be transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department, Lafia for a thorough investigation after which the suspect will be arraigned in the Court of law.

The Commissioner also enjoined members of the public to thoroughly screen and get to know the family of those they intend to employ as house help before doing so.
