Nasarawa State Governor’s Aide Kidnapped

Despite the existing anti-kinapping Law in Nasarawa State, the Senior Special Adviser to governor Abdullahi Sule on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. John Mamma has been kidnapped.

Report says the politician was kidnapped on Saturday night in his country home at Dari in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa state after a stakeholders meeting in their Community.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the Kidnappers invaded the house of Dr. Mamma around 9pm while he was relaxing with friends outside due to the hot weather and started shooting sporadically.

He said in the midst of the pandamonium, the kidnappers whisked the SSA away with his phone and that of his wife.

When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer of the Nasarawa State Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, saying the state Commissioner of Police has directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Garaku Division, the commander SARS and that of the anti kidnapping to condone all forests in the area to rescue and arrest the kidnappers.

He added that, so far the kidnappers are yet to establish contact with the family.

It could be recalled that on the 26 February this year, the Nasarawa State Government passed into Law the state anti kidnapping law 2020 as part of efforts to curtail the incessant kidnapping within the state.
