Jos, 13 March 2023: An official in Nigeria’s Plateau State – Sunday Biggs says the State can earn enough for itself from tourism if developed.
According to Biggs — a Permanent Secretary at the Plateau State Government, no administration can survive without tourism revenue, noting the state’s diverse cultures and spectacular festivals were exportable products.
“There’s no leadership that can come to Plateau and not prioritize tourism,” said Biggs to The Light Bearer at the cultural festival of the Butura people in the State’s Bokkos Local Government Area on 12 March.
“It’s one of the things that we pride ourselves in as the home of peace abs tourism,” noted Biggs.
“Every Governor must have to find ways to improve on our tourism potentials – develop our tourism potentials and see how to engage the private sector to see what government is doing,” he added, hinting of a Gubernatorial ambition which he said would improve the State’s tourism industry if actualized.
