No provision for “Concerned Members” Group in COCIN Structure- President

The President of Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri has denounced the existence of any group under the guise of “concerned members” in the Church.

The President made this known at the ongoing General Church Council meeting, the highest decision making body of the Church at its headquarters in Jos, Plateau state.

He described as dangerous the emerging trend where rebels and opponents of Church policies and decisions group themselves as concerned members to disrupt the peace and progress of the Church.

“COCIN structure has no provision for any such group. Any such group exists illegally and should not be heard or attended to” he emphasized.

He described as sad a situation where some pastors are aiding or encouraging such groups, noting that such pastors will be brought to book if discovered.

The spiritual leader of the Church advised all members who have genuine concerns or grievances with the church or pastor to direct such through the appropriate channels provided by COCIN structure.

This is coming barely two weeks after the protest that rocked one of the COCIN Churches under Karu by some aggrieved members who had earlier petitioned the church under the auspices of “concerned members.”
