Plateau Assembly Seek Quick Payment of FG Special Work Force Beneficiaries

The Plateau State House of Assembly is seeking quick Payment of the Federal Government Special Work Force programme under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to the beneficiaries.

Under a matter of urgent public importance at Tuesday plenary, member representing Pankshin North in the state Assembly, Philip Dasun prayed the House to intervene to cushion the hardship faced by majority of the beneficiaries.

Members who contributed to the motion, also prayed that the House should have an interaction with the Management of Heritage Bank who are handling the payment and the Agency handling the work to get a clear picture of where the challenges are coming from.

A bill for a Law to establish a Contributory Pension Scheme for Employees in the public sector of Plateau State and for other matters connected, 2021 also went through second reading in the House by majority leader, Naanlong Daniel.

Members suggested critical observation of the bill before passage as the Speaker, Ayuba Abok ruled that the standing Committee on Labour should invite the Plateau State Labour Union on the bill before public hearing.

The House also adopted a report from the Standing Committee on Health on a bill for a Law to establish the Plateau State Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) Board and other matters connected, 2021 by Daniel Nanbol Listick.

In another development, members of the House also unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker of the 9th Assembly, Ayuba Abok for outstanding leadership style.
