Plateau Speaker bags Ngas Traditional Title

The Plateau State House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Ayuba Abok has bagged the traditional title of Nkhigrip Dawaki (Dawaki Shield) of Dawaki in Kanke LGA of Plateau State.

The Speaker achieved this feat in the Ngas nation shortly after commissioning a project executed by a member representing Kanke constituency in the Plateau state House of Assembly, Barrister Wallok Goma in Dawaki District of the local government.

Decorating the speaker with the Ngas traditional attire and a sword, the District head of Dawaki, Nde Julius Gombwir opined that it’s a tradition of the Ngas nation that no visitor of importance like the number three citizen of the state will visit and go back empty.

“You have been a friend of the Ngas people long before now, and you know the Ngas man and your people are good friends, so this is to demonstrate the long existing relationship between us as a mark of honour to you” he said.

Responding, the speaker who was overwhelmed by the unexpected honour, thanked the District head and the Ngas nation which according to him is his home for the honour.

The speaker assured the people of the 9th assembly his commitment in making legislations that will better the lives of all Plateau citizens
