Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Plateau State Command wants Local Government Councils in the State to cooperate with local security to address security challenges.
Commandant of the Security outfit, Joseph Zima stated this recently, at Jos East Local Government Council in continuation of his familiarization tour of the State.
Report from the Senior Information Officer of the Jos East local government council, Sabarka Bawul said the Commandant had stressed that the tour was aimed at soliciting collaboration to protect lives and properties in the State, considering the incessant security breach by hoodlums.
Zima used the visit to inform the Council authorities of a workshop organized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Jos to train Officers on how to curb drug addiction in Communities and sued for support to enable them achieve the feat.
Chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, Yakubu Ezekiel who was represented by the Chief Scribe of the Council, Naomi Sani appreciated the security outfit for seeking synergy with the Local Government and assured them of the administration’s willingness to accord them all the necessary backing to enable success in that regard.
The Chairman recalled that Jos East has been under Security threat by bandits, leading to loss of lives and kidnappings. He noted that the visit was timely, while calling on the people to be vigilant and report useful information to the security officers.
