Politicians Charged to be Faithful

Christ in Nations (COCIN) and Plateau State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Dr. Soja Bewarang has called on politicians to remain faithful in the discharge of their duties as the church is praying for them.
The Cleric made this call recently at the send off service of Rev. and Mrs. Bulus Tsok, Chairman PCC Jos and RCC Gyel which took place at COCIN Church Bwandang in Jos South Local Government of Plateau state. While thanking the politicians for participating in church activities, he pointed out that they must continue to be faithful as they will account for their responsibilities.
Thanking the Tsok family for their service to God and humanity, he charged them to continue that which God has called them to do to his glory even at their new station.
In his welcome address, Vice Chairman, PCC Jos, Rev. John Yilkpuba appreciated God for his grace adding that Rev. Tsok’s eight years of service at the PCC/RCC is worth celebrating. While congratulating him for these years of service, he prayed for God’s protection for him.
The COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri represented by COCIN DGS, Rev. Dauda Jimra in his pastoral greetings read Philippians 3:1-14 and expressed thanks to God and to the family of Rev. Tsok for their service in the Lord’s vineyard. Rev. Jimra pointed out that the PCC/RCC will still from time to time need his services hence he should avail himself for advice for the growth of the church.
He encouraged the church to keep praying for them in the remaining responsibility God has assigned for them before retirement.
In his message, Rev. Gyang Chuwang who was guest preacher read Judges 2:6-10 and Philippians 4:10-20 with the topic ‘farewell’. He stressed that to say goodbye to someone is always difficult particularly when a healthy relationship has been established.
Rev. Chuwang pointed out that it is unfortunate that the church today is celebrating successes and popularity rather than souls won to the kingdom of God.
The Cleric revealed that only few understand the purpose of leadership and why they are leaders adding that many only follow mere religion and tradition as the Holy Spirit is not in them, running the church without Christ and being so familiar with the word of God but no impact. He pointing out that this is a generation without God.
He encouraged the church to follow the example of leaders who served God with sincerity of heart so that the church will have a generation with God to pass on the mantle of leadership to.
Responding, Rev. Tsok appreciated God for his help and support noting that it has not been easy but that God has been faithful. The Cleric appreciated all who find time to come adding that what everyone did will be rewarded by God as it will support mission work.
There were goodwill messages from Da Dr. Dangang, Gwom Rwei Jos South, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka, Hon. Dachung Bagos, Sen. I D Gyang represented by Hon. Mancha, Hon. Amorudu, former COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Soja Bewarang, and other dignitaries at the occasion as choir, CWF sang to the glory of God while the invited guests and congregation presented gifts and donations to the celebrants.
