Tragedy as 5 COCIN Youths Die in Ghastly Motor Accident

Five members of the Church of Christ in Nations COCIN Youth fellowship of Local Church Council LCC Ikoyi in Lagos state have died in a ghastly accident Sunday morning.

The youth members were said to have embarked on a journey to Abeokuta for their Annual Youth Fellowship Rotational Service across the Regional Church Council RCC as organized by the RCC youth leadership.

It was gathered that the tyre of the bus conveying the youth bursted which caused the car to summersault.

Chairman of the RCC, Rev. Gideon Bondurang who confirmed the incident, said out of the 20 occupants of the Bus who are all members of the LCC Ikoyi Youth fellowship, 5 were confirmed dead while 6 other sustain various degree of injuries and are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

While sympathizing with the immediate families of the deceased and the Church, the Chairman described them as soldiers of the Lord who died in active service and appealed to the Church to trust God and fine solace in Him as he prayed God to heal those who were injured.

Reacting to the sad development, the COCIN Youth Coordinator, Rev. Amos Dammo said he is still in shock over the sad event saying, though painful but God is in control.

He consoled the family, the youth fellowship, RCC and the COCIN President over the loss and prayed God to strengthen them and be with them in such a trying moment.
