We are not irresponsible, retract your statement- Plateau Assembly to Brekete Family President

Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have on behalf of the good and hardworking people of Plateau State called on the President of Brekete Family Television and Radio, Ahmed Isa to retract his comment about Plateau men.

The call was made in a motion by Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan during Tuesday plenary where the members unanimously adopted the motion and also want the Brekete Family President popularly known as Ordinary President to tender an unreserved apology to the people of Plateau State.

Speaking after the plenary, the House spokesman Hon. Matthew Kwarpo opined that the statement was not the true reflection of the Plateau people.

It could be recalled that in one of the Brekete Family program, the President alleged that majority of Plateau men are irresponsible but the women are responsible, hardworking, ambitious and strong.

He added that some of the men are good in 3 things, which are drinking, womanizing and getting women pregnant without taking responsibility.

The Ordinary President further advised that the government should reduce the number of drinking joins in the state.

During the plenary, the Plateau state House of Assembly sworn in the member representing Jos North West, Hon. Mark Sunday Naah out of the six remaining opposition All Progressive Party, APC members declared by the Appeal Court last year.

Speaking to news men after taking the oath of office, Hon. Naah stated that his swearing in was made possible after due consultations for the interest of his people, assuring his constituents of quality and responsive representation.

The inauguration of Hon. Sunday Mark Naah has therefore, increased the members of the assembly to Nineteen with 5 remaining.

The Assembly also screened and confirmed four members of the state Judicial Service Commission as requested by the state Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang in a communication to the speaker.

The members are Dr. Julie Anpe, Erasmus Luther Cishak, Henry Longpoe and Simon Yusuf Tsok.
