Evang. Dachomo Celebrates 32 Years in Marriage with an Outreach to Drug Addicts

The Chairman RCC Ropp, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo and his wife Jessica have celebrated their 32nd marriage anniversary with a music concert and a message of hope to those under the bondage of drug addiction in the jungle.

The celebration which was held yesterday in Barkin Ladi started with a thanksgiving service at the RCC headquarters where the family appreciated God for sustaining their union for over 3 decades despite the challenges they encountered.

In her testimony Mrs. Jessica Dachomo who spoke on behalf of the family said on the 9th of May this year their union clocked 32 years. She acknowledged that they have had both the good and bad times in marriage and that despite the fact that they failed God in so many ways, the Lord has been faithful to them.

Mrs. Dachomo said though her husband is unavoidably absent, they have agreed as a couple to dedicate their 32nd marriage anniversary to winning the souls that are wasting away in drug addiction. She thanked God and solicited for prayers for 15 of them who have been won over to Christ and are under her discipleship care.

One of the family members who spoke on behalf of the other children, thanked God for keeping their parents and appreciated them for giving them the word of God. He described his parents’ marriage as a model for them.

The Guest speaker, a Clinical Psychologist from Isama Center, Mrs. Changkat Morris spoke on: ‘Mental Health’ She said many people in Nigeria today are living with depression and most of them do not know. According to her, anger, unforgiveness, fear, anxiety are some of the causes of depression.

Mrs. Morris discussed some of the preventive measures to include: rest, nutrition, exercise, sleep, contentment, being optimistic among others. She called on people to always speak out when they are depressed and advised parents to create time to listen to their children who might be going through depression.

The second part of the anniversary celebration featured music concert and an outreach to the drug addicts. 

Mrs. Morris again gave a brief talk on ‘The Prison Called Drugs’ where she spoke on the dangers of drugs abuse on the youth and charged them to avoid it so as not to be imprisoned by it.There was a testimony from Samuel one of the repentant addicts in form of a poem titled change. 

There were special song ministrations by Ezra Jinang, Job Manja, Five Loaves, Margaret Dachomo, Kate Samuel, Darim Dachomo and others.

Speaking on behalf of his other colleagues one of the repentant drug addicts Gwanda Deme Dung thanked God for saving them from the bondage of drug addiction. 

While soliciting for prayers, he narrated how they are being mocked at by their former colleagues that they will soon go back to their former ways. He added that their deliverance has brought about reconciliation with their families.
