COCIN ICT Director Urges IT Students to Remain Spiritually Grounded

The Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Mr. Zamakwa Dibal, has urged Industrial Training (IT) students to remain spiritually grounded and continue to shine their light as they complete their training and return to their respective institutions.

Mr. Zamwakwa made the call yesterday during a send-off prayer organised for the students at the end of their Industrial Training exercise with the Light Bearer newspaper.

He encouraged the students to maintain the values and discipline they had acquired throughout their training, urging them to demonstrate positive changes when they return to school.

According to him, the students should allow their conduct and character to reflect the training they received, so that people around them would recognise that they had been properly groomed during their period with COCIN.

Mr. Zamwakwa further challenged the students to distinguish themselves positively and make COCIN proud, stressing that as young people who had been nurtured by the organisation, their character and conduct should reflect godly values.

Also speaking, the Deputy Editor, Mr. Daksun Habila, advised the students not to limit themselves to traditional print media and newspapers, noting that the media landscape is increasingly shifting towards digital platforms.

He urged them to make productive use of their mobile devices rather than using them solely for chatting and entertainment, encouraging them to explore online learning opportunities and acquire relevant digital skills.

Mr. Daksun further encouraged the students to broaden their knowledge of communication by learning different forms of digital content creation, including podcasting, online news writing and other forms of communication across digital platforms.

The IT Supervisors, Mr. Timothy Alamba and Mr. Silas Buni, also urged the students to remain calm, focused and determined as they return to school, while commending their commitment throughout the training period.

They noted that the students demonstrated enthusiasm, willingness to learn and dedication to the various areas of knowledge and skills they were exposed to during their Industrial Training.

Other members of staff also commended the students for their performance, describing them as among the best IT students the organisation had received so far.

They prayed for the students and wished them success as they return to their respective institutions to continue their academic and professional development.
