The Special Adviser on Budget to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Hon OJ Afwanks has charged government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the need to improve on the budgeting process by preparing Budget proposals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realizable and Time bound (SMART ) in 2025.
The Special Adviser gave the charge as MDAs took turns to defend their 2025 proposals before the State Budget Committee.
Hon. Afwanks opined that henceforth, Government would consider fund releases based on performance for Results, Report and Reward system.
He said, Governor Caleb Mutfwang is interested in credible Budget outcomes that would reduce poverty, hardship, crime, unemployment and enhance prosperity of the state.
He added that MDAs who perform credibly and give evidence report would draw more funds to work, and the best performing MDAs would be rewarded every year, as he encouraged proper coordination and working synergy amongst MDAs for optimal results.
