Yuletide: Operation Rainbow assured Plateau Citizens of Safety

The Plateau State own security outfit known as Operation Rainbow has assured citizens of the state of their safety before, during and after this year’s Christmas celebration.

The Special Adviser to the Plateau State Governor on Security and Coordinator of the outfit, Gen. Gakji Shipi (rtd) gave the assurance shortly after defending the office budget before the Assembly Standing Committee on Labour and Security, headed by Hon. Nanbol Listick at the Assembly complex recently.

According to the coordinator, they have received adequate support from the state government in the areas of funding and mobility to aid them in intelligence gathering and quick response to distress calls when the need arises.

He said by the special grace of God they have put in place adequate measures to avert the ugly Christmas Eve attacked that was experienced last year in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.

The Security expert noted that the governor has given them every possible support to build on the peace that the state is currently enjoying, adding that the they have received several approvals for the deployment of technology into the security fight.

While calling for calm, he noted that he is aware of the apprehension over fear of the unknown based on previous experience, but assured that they are up and doing to ensure safety of every Plateau citizens not only during yuletide but all the time.

He appreciated the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for according priority to the safety of Plateau citizens and releasing funds to the office as at when due.
