Former Plateau Lawmaker builds, Equips Clinic in Bokkos

Former lawmaker representing Bokkos State Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Usaini Amurudu has built and handed over a well equipped clinic to a community in Bokkos local government area of the state.

The handing over ceremony of the 3 wards and offices clinic which was built in Richa, is coming exactly two years after leaving office as their representative in June, 2023.

While commissioning the project, Hon. Usaini Amurudu, whom some of the Constituents always refered to as the best performing lawmaker ever produced from the Constituency, said the gesture was borne out of love for his people even after leaving office.

In his words, “The motivation for this is all about passion. Once you have your people at heart, come rain, come sun, they are your people… Anytime I have opportunity I will do more, because it pleases me and it pleases God.”

Hon. Amurudu said the project was a request made by the people and he started shortly before leaving office, but because he is a business man, he used the proceeds of his business to complete the project.

He pleaded with the stakeholders to approach the local government to deploy staff to the clinic as he will not have resources to employ and pay staff to man the clinic. He also encouraged them to protect the facility and all the equipments as it’s now their property.

He pledged his continued support to his people and willingness to serve in any given opportunity as long as he lives.

Receiving the clinic, the District Head of Richa, Mr. Peter Tom Ashawa and Youth Leader, Mr. Sylvester Jerry Ayizat, applauded the former lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless his business and favour him in his political pursuits.

Hon. Amurudu who was a member of the 9th Plateau State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had during his tenure in office constructed and renovated Primary Healthcare facilities, Schools, Laboratories and Examination Halls across different communities of the Constituency.

Other projects that are credited to him are the constructions of culverts linking several communities, boreholes and electrification. Hon. Amurudu was also known for his empowerment programme that made many of the constituents self reliant, employed and provided scholarships for some students.
