TEE Graduates urged to Impact the Society with their Knowledge

Graduating students of COCIN Theological Education by Extension (TEE) have been urged to impact the society with the knowledge they have acquired.

COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo made the call today at COCIN headquarters compound Church in Jos, while delivering his speech at the 15th graduation of the school.

“I urge you to remember that your education is not about acquiring knowledge, it is about using that knowledge to make a profound impact in the life of others.

“The true essence of learning lies in how you apply it to better the society around you” Rev. Dr. Mohzo said.

He further charge them to use their knowledge to spread love and compassion wherever they go and to allow their lives to be witnesses to the power of education.

While encouraging them not to relent in their pursuit of knowledge, the clergy advised them to carry the light of knowledge and wisdom With a humble hearts and let their actions be guided by the spirit of kindness, empathy and respect for all.

The COCIN Deputy General Secretary, Rev. Dinfa Mamshal who was the Guest  Speaker at the event spoke on the topic: ‘TEE Programme, A Catalyst for Spiritual Maturity’, reiterated the philosophy of TEE which is to increase the spiritual knowledge of Christians who are already in Church leadership and not to train people in order to get a job.

He went further to described TEE as a vehicle that carries the word of God which is the true catalyst that brings about spiritual maturity.

According to him spiritual maturity is not spontaneous but comes through gradual studying of God’s word which teaches, corrects, rebukes and trains the believer for service.

The COCIN Director of Education, Rev. Dr. Toma Abungyak in his welcome address congratulated the graduating students and commended them for their resilience in the course of their studies. He encouraged them to continue to study and should not relaxed.

Rev. Dr. Timothy Dafer, the COCIN TEE Provost in his speech called on the graduating students to be good ambassadors of Christ and of the school. He thanked the Church for their support and encouragement where he called on those who want to enroll to do so, as the the school is a platform for the training of lay leaders for the church.

There were other goodwill messages from the Board Chairman COCIN Theological Institutions, Rev. Dr. Dauda Chentu, the Chairman of the Occasion, Elder John Nden, the Chairlady, Mrs. Rebecca Gyot, and the President Students Union Government, Mr. Mallo Istifanus Adamu.
