The Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University, Vom, Prof. Yakubu Yerima Jabil has said the institution is working towards becoming a leading global centre for research, learning, and innovation.
Prof. Jabil made the disclosure when he received the Head and staff of the Department of Physics, University of Jos, who paid him a courtesy visit at the university.
He said his administration is committed to creating and sustaining an enabling academic environment that would meet global standards and encourage innovation, research, and effective learning.
According to him, the university has made remarkable progress within a few years, securing accreditation for 13 academic programmes.
The Vice Chancellor expressed optimism that more programmes would be introduced in the near future as the institution continues to expand its academic frontiers.
He appreciated his former colleagues for the visit, describing their prayers, encouragement, and support as a source of strength to his administration.
Prof. Jabil urged members of the department to continue to support the university whenever their expertise and assistance were required.
Earlier, the Head of the Department of Physics, University of Jos, Prof. Emmanuel Taddy, said the delegation was at Karl Kumm University primarily to pray for and encourage Prof. Jabil in connection to his appointment as Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Taddy said the appointment came as no surprise to members of the department, given Prof. Jabil’s impressive track record and commitment to duty.
He described the Vice Chancellor as a man of integrity and transparency who is dedicated to his responsibilities and consistently works hard to deliver on assignments entrusted to him.
Among members of the delegation were Prof. Stephen Songden, Director of Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), Karl Kumm University; Prof. Ezekiel Makama; Prof. Stella Akandi; and Prof. Ndubisi Omaghali, alongside other members of the Department of Physics, University of Jos.
The visit featured the presentation of a plaque to the Vice Chancellor and prayers for a successful tenure in office.
