COCIN Condoles Giwa, Zango’s Families over Fathers’ Demise

The Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, has Condoled the families of late Da Musa Giwa and late Rtd. Rev. Dalyop Zongo.

President of the Church, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo led the Church delegation for the condolence visits on Monday at Kuru and Bukuru Low-cost in Jos South local government area of Plateau State.

Delivering the condolence message to the Giwa”s family, the President informed them that they are at the residence on behalf of the Church, where he read Job 14:15 and Jeremiah 10:23.

He reminded them that their late father lived a fulfilled life both in the Army and in the Church as Patron of the Boys Brigade Nigeria among other commitments in the Church.

The Church spiritual leader said when it is God’s time, there is nothing one can do to prevent it. “You can go to the hospital, but when God say this is the time, there is nothing you can do. We cannot argue with God.” He added.

He said only God can tell how long one can live and no one can add a day to ones life when God says it is over.

Rev. Dr. Mohzo noted that it is not easy to lose your parents, as it is painful no matter how old they became. But urged them to find solace in God as there is time for everything.

Responding, Ambassador Chris Giwa appreciated the Church for identifying with them in their moment of grief. He said they are encouraged by the visit, noting that it is not easy for him being they only child to his late parents.

“It was not easy for me, being the only child to my parents, when God brought me to this world, they were the only people I know, they were the only people I grew up to know, I don’t have brother and I don’t have sister, so I got all the attention that a child can get from his parents. Both spiritual attention and physical attraction.” He added.

While appreciating God, he said though it is painful for him but he thanked God who has given him the opportunity to get to the age he is in life and to be an instrument that God used to give his parent the attention they also needed.

At the residence of late Rtd. Rev. Dalyop Zongo , the COCIN President recalled how their late father served in the Lord’s vineyard through the Church and encouraged them to be comforted by the fact that he lived a live of impact.

Rev. Polycarp Zongo who spoke on behalf of the family, appreciated the leader of the Church for the visit.

Late Da Musa Giwa died at the age of 82 while late Rtd. Rev. Dalyop Zongo died at the age of 100 following a protracted Illness.

The President was accompanied during the condolence visits by the Church General Secretary, Rev. Associate Professor Benjamin Pokol, Deputy General Secretary, Rev. Dinfa Mamshal, COCIN Chief Security Officer, Rev. Captain. Thomas Lot (Rtd) and Protocol Officer, Rev. Mikang Gukam.
