Easter: Plateau Speaker Calls for Unity, Hope Amid Security Challenges.

The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel, has extended warm Easter felicitations to Christians across Plateau State and Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace the core values of sacrifice, love, hope, and redemption that define the season.

In his Easter message through his Press Secretary, Philip Eplong, Rt. Hon. Daniel described the celebration as a period of profound spiritual significance, symbolizing renewal, victory over adversity, and the triumph of light over darkness. He encouraged believers to draw inspiration from the resurrection of Jesus Christ by remaining steadfast in faith, fostering unity, and promoting peaceful coexistence.

Addressing the prevailing security concerns in the State, the Speaker acknowledged ongoing challenges but reaffirmed the commitment of government at all levels to safeguarding lives and property. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in strengthening security, particularly through plans to deploy network surveillance cameras.

Speaking on behalf of the leadership and members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Daniel reiterated the Legislature’s readiness to collaborate closely with the executive arm in advancing peace, unity, and security across the State.

He further called on religious and community leaders, youth groups, and development organizations to intensify efforts in promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and mutual understanding, stressing that sustainable peace can only be achieved through collective responsibility.

The Speaker urged residents to use the Easter period as an opportunity to promote tolerance, compassion, and harmony, noting that unity remains the cornerstone for building a peaceful and prosperous Plateau State.

He concluded by wishing all Christians a peaceful, joyful, and fulfilling Easter celebration.
