The Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission of Plateau State has launched a child protection awareness campaign in Metro Buses plying the State. The aim is to sensitize passengers, on the need to protect children from abuse, trafficking, neglect, and other forms of violence.
The Commission’s Acting. Chairperson, Barr. Olivia Dazyem, alongside other officials, appreciated the administration of Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for establishing the Commission, noting that they are committed to promoting justice, fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all genders irrespective of tribe and religion.

Dazyem emphasized the need for collective action and collaboration in addressing societal issues that affect the children such as gender based violence, human trafficking, child neglect, abandonment of parental responsibilities and all forms of abuse.
She added that the campaign will further serve to enlighten the public about activities of the Commission. Encourage citizens of Plateau State to actively participate in building a society founded on respect, dignity, inclusion and accountability while creating an enabling environment where children can grow, learn, thrive and ensuring that their rights are respected and upheld at all times.
The exercise covers two major routes, Zawan to Farin gada and from Zawan to Terminus.
