Plateau Senator Distributes 10 Trailer loads of Fertilizer to Constituents

The Senator Representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Hon. Diket Plang has expressed serious commitment to help his constituency to be self sufficient in food production through modern agricultural practices. 

Hon. Plang made this  assertion recently at Kanke while flagging off the distribution of 10 trailer loads of Urea and Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium (NPK) fertilizers to his constituents within the Central Zone.

During the flagging off of the distribution exercise which was witnessed by large crowd, the Senator said that security and food sustainability chain can be achieve through diversifying into mechanised farming practices. 

Such effort according to him will boost food productivity, leading to reduction of hunger and starvation in the country. He pointed out that it was part of his efforts to empower his people in modern and effective agricultural practices.

The Senator in collaboration with National Production Center dolled out the six thousand bags of fertilizer in Mangu, Bokkos, Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam, whom he is representing at the Red chamber of the National Assembly.

The process of the distribution started with training of the recipient at the MNS resort in Pankshin. According to the consultant and experts from the Federal Capital Abuja led by Henry Ojiofo founder of triple seedlings is focused on the identification of the right location, when and time to apply Urea and the Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium ( NPK)  fertilizer for optimal output and also exposing the beneficiaries on a green revolutionary journey of job creation.

While assuring the people of more incentives and good legislation ahead, the National Assembly member revealed that there are some notable bills  to establish Federal Mining University as well as Special Hospital for eyes treatment in his name that will be sited in the state.

Also, to ensure equitable and even distribution of the fertilizer to the target beneficiaries, Hon. Diket Plang was at Bokkos, Panyam in Mangu LGA and Pankshin to inspect the distribution exercise. 

The beneficiaries appreciated their representative for supporting them to improve on their agricultural activities, noting that life will be much better with the availability of food. They added that they have never had it good as now and assured the senator of their maximum support.
